Silvia cake

Ingredients
Finished quantity of chocolate cake:
- 1,2 kg Finished quantity of cake
Ingredients, cake base:
- 195 gram Eggs
- 270 gram granulated sugar
- 150 gram Kallt vatten
- 60 gram Wheat flour
- 120 gram Dry Simsubas
- 8 gram Baking powder
Ingredients, topping:
- 250 gram butter
- 180 gram granulated sugar
- 6 gram Vanilla sugar
- 60 gram Egg yolk
Instructions
Instruction, cake base
- Set the oven to 175 degrees
- Line an ovenproof dish or long pan, about 20x30cm, with baking paper.
- In a bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until white and fluffy. Stir in the water.
- Mix the flour, base and baking powder and sift it in. Stir to a smooth batter and pour it into the mold.
- Bake the cake for about 30 minutes, or until fully cooked. Test it with a wooden skewer, it should be completely dry. Leave to cool in the pan.
Instruction, glaze
- Melt butter and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to the boil and cook 1 min, stirring constantly.
- Take the saucepan off the heat. Add the egg yolks and vanilla sugar. Whisk vigorously until the cream thickens. NOTE it must not boil! Then leave to cool slightly.
- When the cake is cold enough, pour the icing over it and sprinkle with coconut. Leave to cool and cut the cake into pieces.
